The type R signals came out around 1967 and
replaced the M style. They were made in 8" as well
as 12" diameter. They were made in aluminum until
the late 70's when aluminum and polycarbonate
bodies were available. They were available in
several configurations and were available with
more options than ever before. Crouse-Hinds
ceased traffic signal production with this model
signal.
