| On December 10, 1980,The Crouse-Hinds Company merged with Belden, a wire and cable manufacturer founded in Chicago in 1902, by Joseph C. Belden. On April 10, 1981 Cooper Industries, with corporate headquarters in Houston, Texas, acquired the combined entity of Crouse-Hinds and Belden. Around 1981 Shortly after Cooper purchased Crouse-Hinds they sold the traffic products divsion to Traffic Control Technologies, of Liverpool, New York. In 1992 Component Products Inc. Purchased the patterns for Crouse-Hinds cabinets, mountings and bases from Traffic Control Technologies. In 1993 Traffic Control Technologies, sold to Peek Traffic Transit of Tallahassee, Florida. |

| In 2007 I took a trip to Syracuse, New York to visit the Crouse-Hinds Factory as well as the original plant at 500 Water Street. It was nice to see the original Crouse-Hinds factory still in its original location. Several modifications have been done to the building over the years. |
